This pendulum wave demonstrator simulates frequencies and phases. It includes a stand with nine (9) 22 mm steel balls, the pendulums. It also includes an initiator stick to release all the pendulums simultaneously. Once released, the pendulums swing to quickly form a wave pattern and then pass through different phases.

Simulated waves are created by the different rope lengths of the pendulums. Each travels a greater distance than the next. Thus, the pendulums have a variation in position, which creates several phase effects, until eventually coming back into harmony, just as they did at the very beginning and then the repeat the phases, until coming to a halt because there is resistance from the air and between the pendulum string and the support. If this friction was eliminated, the movement would carry on forever.
